Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Corn farming. Hay farming. Wheat farming. Outdoors. Dairy. Grain, oil and forage crop. Livestock. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Conduct artificial insemination and spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses. Cut agricultural crops. Diagnose livestock health issues. Handling animals. Monitor the calving process. Monitoring animal health. Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly . Treat livestock health issues. Maintain financial and production records. Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Hire and train staff. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervise operation of mechanical equipment and machinery. Schedule work assignments. Supervision: 3-4 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Automated manure handling or storage system. Harvesters. Seed drill. Storage and silage system. Tractor. Area of specialization: Agricultural livestock service. Cattle breeding. Beef cattle. Dairy cattle. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail.
