*Job Summary:*
We are seeking a compassionate and creative *Art Therapist* to join our mental health team. The Art Therapist will use the creative process of art-making to improve and enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of clients. This role combines psychological counselling with artistic expression to help individuals explore emotions, develop self-awareness, cope with stress, and manage behaviour and addiction.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Conduct individual and group art therapy sessions for clients of all ages.
* Assess client needs through clinical interviews and observation.
* Develop and implement customized therapeutic art programs.
* Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
* Maintain detailed records of client progress, treatment plans, and session notes.
* Use a variety of art media (e.g., painting, drawing, sculpture) appropriate to the clients? therapeutic needs.
* Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary.
* Educate clients and families about the benefits of art therapy.
* Uphold ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality.
*Qualifications:*
* Master?s degree in Art Therapy, Counselling, or a related field.
* Licensure or registration as a professional Art Therapist (ATR or ATR-BC) preferred.
* Strong understanding of psychological theory and therapeutic techniques.
* Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and creative skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
