*Job Summary*
Dartmouth Metals is seeking a reliable and skilled *Shunt Truck Driver* to join our metal recycling team. This position involves moving and managing sea containers within our facility yard, with occasional runs to the port. The successful candidate will be a confident and experienced driver with strong backing skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude. Forklift operation is also required to assist in loading empty containers onto the trailer.
*Responsibilities*
* Safely shunt and position sea containers within our yard (approx. 75% of the role)
* Complete 1 trip to/from the pier per day (as needed)
* Operate a forklift to load empty containers onto trailers
* Execute accurate and efficient back-parking of containers
* Inspect containers and equipment before and after moves
* Communicate effectively with yard team and supervisors to coordinate workflow
* Identify and resolve on-the-job challenges quickly and safely
*Requirements*
* Class 1 license preferred, OR significant experience with backing/shunting sea containers
* Forklift experience required (certification is an asset)
* Strong spatial awareness and demonstrated back-parking ability
* Positive attitude and team spirit
* Good problem-solving skills and ability to adapt
* Attention to safety, detail, and site procedures
