Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Professionalism in customer service. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Load and unload goods. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). Forklift Operator Certification. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Regional. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Drive manual transmission vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Tight deadlines. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
