Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Outdoors. Dairy. Grain, oil and forage crop. Tasks: Conduct artificial insemination and spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses. Diagnose livestock health issues. Handling animals. Monitor the calving process. Monitoring animal health. Treat livestock health issues. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Maintain work records and logs. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Track and report on current feed inventory . Supervision: 5-10 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Automated manure handling or storage system. Milking system (automated). Storage and silage system. Tractor. Area of specialization: Dairy cattle. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Organized. Team player.
