*Job Description*
As a Financial Controller, at Waterville TG Inc., located in Petrolia, Ontario, you will play a central role in analyzing results, implementing cost control systems, and producing financial reports. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective internal controls, contributing to budget processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. You will also collaborate closely with the Financial Controller at our Quebec site to harmonize practices.
Under the supervision of the General Manager, Finance and Administration, your analytical skills and leadership will have a direct impact on strategic decision-making and the organization's overall performance.
*Major Areas of Responsibility*
* Controls and monitors the plant's overall financial health
* Collects, compiles, and analyzes financial data necessary for decision-making
* Develops, implements, and maintains effective internal financial controls
* Ensures the company's profitability by implementing and maintaining cost control systems (budget, bid, standard costs, actual costs, etc.)
* Oversees the preparation and analysis of periodic financial reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual)
* Contributes to the introduction of new technologies or financial programs within the organization
* Analyzes performance indicators, identify gaps, and propose corrective measures (scrap, labor efficiency, material consumption)
* Contributes to the improvement of financial processes; Ensures accounting practices comply with current standards
* Participates in the financial forecasting and budgeting processes for the plant
* Prepares and summarize financial information for the organization's management
* Aligns action plans with other departments and monitor progress
* Collaborates with Quebec?s Financial Controller to align practices
* Other duties as required
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent experience
* CPA designation
* Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in financial and management accounting
* Experience in the manufacturing sector, an asset
* Intermediate proficiency in Excel and basic Office Suite
* Knowledge of SAP software, an asset
* Intermediate to advanced bilingualism for communications with our Quebec plant and presentations to management
