*Job Summary* We are looking for a Piercer to join us in a 4 room shop above the theatre in Grant Park Mall. We have businesses already requesting piercing pricelists from us on the main floor of the mall as they get plenty of requests for piercing but don't provide the service. There is an option to become an employee and work under the shop insurance, if you wish to be a separate entity running your own business within the shop you will have to secure insurance through our provider separately. Our insurance provider requires that every piercer/tattoo artist renting a room from us or working for commission must secure insurance to operate, for each individual it seems to run anywhere from 600-800 per year (can be paid in 3 installments throughout the year if needed) and we can walk you through the process with our insurance provider. It may be difficult or more expensive to get insurance coverage if you are performing specialized piercings (ie. Below the belt) *Duties* * Perform body piercings in a safe, sterile environment while adhering to all health and safety regulations. * Consult with clients to understand their preferences and provide professional advice on piercing options. * Educate clients on aftercare procedures to ensure proper healing and satisfaction. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the piercing area, including sterilization of tools and equipment. * Explanation of aftercare procedures * Provide consultations with clients whenever needed. *Requirements* BODY MODIFICATION CERTIFICATE 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE MINIMUM * Proven experience as a Piercer with a strong online portfolio showcasing your work. * Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. * Knowledge of health regulations related to body art practices is essential. * A passion for body art and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. You will have your own piercing room, there is a separate autoclave room, and the health inspector will be brought in to pass your room before you begin piercing. You will be expected to work minimum 5 days a week which includes Saturday, you must arrive by 11am and stay until 4:30pm. You are welcome to arrive as early as 10am and you can stay as late as 8pm if needed for the clients. Special occasions where you need to be away for appts or events will be accommodated. Missing a certain percentage of days may lead to dismissal. We will not be adding someone to our team who is a magnet for drama as we wish to keep this shop a healthy and happy spot for both staff and clientele.
