Our Madawaska Division is seeking talent to fill a Maintenance Manager position.
The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Eastern Ontario General Manager, and will work closely with other Divisional Maintenance Managers across the region while getting up to speed and for larger Capital Projects. The Maintenance Manager is a motivated individual with strong leadership skills and technical abilities. This position will be based in Madawaska at our Murray Brothers Lumber Company Division.
*Compensation* ? Your compensation will be negotiated during the interview process and is dependent upon candidate experience and qualifications. This position also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
*Work Life Ballance* ? Monday-Thursday: 6am to 3:30pm / Friday 6am-2:30pm
*Responsibilities *
* Provide direct, day-to-day supervision and guidance to a team of maintenance staff, including millwrights apprentices, welders, saw filers and general maintenance workers.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives relating to the performance of the sawmills, planers, stackers and kilns, including installing new equipment, modifying existing equipment, and renovating facilities.
* Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner on an ongoing basis and inventories of spare parts are organized and maintained
* Ensures that activities are performed in accordance to established processes as well as internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection
* Collect and monitor operating data in order to identify opportunities to reduce downtime, increase efficiency, increase production, and improve product quality
* Perform all tasks in accordance with established Safe Work Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, hot work permits and lock out tag out procedures
* Prepare budgets, forecasts, reports, and project plans when requested
* Respond to emergency situations, providing timely and appropriate resolution
* Collaborate with other departments as required to ensure safe and efficient
