*Atlantic Bus Corporation (ABC)* is a trusted transportation provider contracted by the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education (AVRCE) to deliver safe and reliable school bus transportation services in the Central and Eastern Kings County area. We are looking for dedicated and responsible *School Bus Drivers*, full-time and part-time, to join our team based out of the *Annapolis Valley, NS* area.
*Primary Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Operate a school bus following all Nova Scotia safety regulations and company policies.
* Ensure timely pickup and drop-off of students at designated locations.
* Supervise safe loading and unloading of students at each stop.
* Follow pre-determined routes set by AVRCE and report any deviations.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working condition.
* Maintain accurate records of trips, vehicle maintenance, and incidents.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
* Follow all AVRCE policies, privacy laws (FOIPOP, PIIDPA), and confidentiality agreements.
* A spare (part-time) driver must be licensed, willing and able to operate all vehicles within the fleet.
*Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:*
* Valid Nova Scotia Class 2B Driver?s License (or willingness to obtain).
* Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
* Clean Driver?s License Abstract with a safe driving record.
* Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (required).
* Child Abuse Registry Check clearance.
* Medical clearance to drive a commercial passenger vehicle.
* Previous bus or commercial driving experience is an asset but not required.
* Ability to manage student behavior and ensure a positive bus environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
