We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Apprentice Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic for our Edmonton, AB shop. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repairs to our fleet of concrete pumps, heavy duty roll off trucks/trailers, and our light duty vacuum trucks.

*What you'll do:*
* Assist in performing consistent and accurate preventative and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles;
* Assist in properly diagnosing cause of failure and perform required repairs safely, accurately, and in an efficient manner;
* Striving to complete repairs within the Standard Repair Times as identified on work orders and/or by your supervisor.
* Operating service truck for emergency truck repairs;
* Completing daily work orders;
* Communicating with operators from other shifts;
* Maintaining a clean and secure work area;
* Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use;
* Participate and implement preventative maintenance program(s); and
* Be accountable for the workmanship on repairs to equipment;
*Qualifications/ Requirements:*
* High school degree or equivalent;
* Valid Drivers License (Class 1 or 3, preferred);
* Registered in Alberta Apprentice program or eligible to register; and
* Provide basic Heavy Duty tools and Toolbox (Required)
*Hours of Work:*
* Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
* Overtime hours
* Evenings/ weekends as required
* After hours on call schedule
*Physical Demands:*
This role requires moderate physical effort, including lifting materials up to 50 lbs. Mechanics frequently use tools requiring arm, hand, and finger dexterity. While most work is performed indoors in a shop environment, mechanics also conduct outdoor diagnostics, vehicle movements, and emergency roadside repairs.
