Site Description:Servicing both Mount Saint Vincent and Saint Mary's University, Paladin's Security Officers support the vibrant and diverse communities on campus. Position Details:Position: Full-Time and Part-Time Security OfficersSite: MSVU, SMUOvertime: Overtime after 48 hoursHours: 12 hour shifts on a rotational basis of days and overnightsPayrate: $15.70-$17.00 Posting Date: May 29, 2025Internal Closing Date: June 30, 2025External Closing Date: March 30, 2025Schedule Example:4 on 4 off 2 days, 2 nightsKey Responsibilities:Patrol the building, facilities and exterior grounds Respond to incidents and play an active role in all emergency situationsConduct investigations re: thefts, break and enter, suspicious persons, accidents, vandalism, etc and complete incident reports, occurrence logs or appropriate documentationComplete door locks/unlocks as required; monitor for unsecure doorsEnforce applicable Smoke-Free Campus and Tobacco Use Policy and document all non-compliance.Provide assistance, as necessary, to University community members'Assist in orientation and training of new security personnel, as required.Provide First Aid response.Monitor surveillance cameras, as required.Other related duties and assignments, as delegated by the University Security Manager.Parking Duties may be required.Prerequisites:Ability to obtain a valid Security License for the province of Nova ScotiaValid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)Valid Driver LicenseEnglish (oral and written) fluency is a mustPrevious experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionPlease be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availabilityWhy choose Paladin?Opportunities for training and professional development.Competitive wage and benefits package.Free UniformsCompany Paid Security licenseDry cleaning & hemming/tailoring allowancePaid vacation & sick daysAdditional perksIf you're excited about the opportunity to work with Paladin Security but don't meet every single qualification listed, don't let that stop you from applying.
