Location(s) - Varied DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains and repairs all buses, vehicles, grounds equipment and generators. Maintains preventative maintenance program according to Ministry of Transportation requirements. Installs, maintains and repairs alternate fuel systems. Orders parts, equipment, tools and supplies. Road tests vehicles. Operates tools and equipment of the trade. Respond to emergency situations as requested. Inspects (daily) and operates a service vehicle. Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification. QUALIFICATIONS Completion of Grade 12. Apprenticeship and/or Trades Qualification Certificate (Commercial Transport Vehicle Repairs or Automotive Mechanical Repairs). Class 3 B.C. Driver's License (Automatic), including Air Brake endorsement. One-year related experience. Ability to perform a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance of district vehicles, equipment and generators. Thorough and current knowledge of the standards, practices, regulations, methods, tools and equipment of the trade. Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the explanation and exchange of information. Ability to determine, judge and select appropriate course of action within limits of established methods and procedures.
