*Mission of Position *
To deliver precise, high-quality painted finishes for commercial signage by utilizing advanced painting techniques, ensuring optimal surface preparation, and maintaining strict adherence to safety and environmental standards, while collaborating effectively with the team to meet client deadlines and exceed expectations.
*Key Criteria/Requirement *
* Experience in commercial painting or working in a paint booth environment, particularly in the signage industry, is preferred
* Proficiency in different painting methods, including spray painting and hand painting
* Perform detailed and repetitive tasks, often requiring fine motor skills to apply paint evenly
* Knowledge of how to properly prepare sign surfaces, including cleaning, sanding, priming, and masking, to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish
* Understanding of various paints and coatings (e.g., acrylic, enamel, polyurethane, automotive-grade paints) and their suitability for different materials like metal, wood, plastic, and acrylic
* Familiarity with spray guns, air compressors, and paint booths, as well as their maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Experience with high-volume low-pressure (HVLP) spray systems for applying even coats of paint with minimal overspray.
* Use of safety equipment like respirators, gloves, goggles, and protective clothing to ensure health and safety while painting in an enclosed booth
* Knowledge of environmentally friendly paint products and techniques, as well as proper disposal methods for paint waste, chemicals, and materials
* Weekend and evenings may be required

*Key Responsibilities *
* Understand and navigate work orders and shop drawings with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Mixing paints and finishes accurately, ensuring the right consistency and color matching for specific projects
* Adherence to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and other industry-specific regulations for chemical safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe handling of hazardous materials
* Work on multiple paint jobs at once, working on different parts of a sign or different signs simultaneously without compromising quality
* Regular inspection of painted signs to ensure they meet the required aesthetic and durability standards before proceeding to the next stage of production
* Ability to work well with other fabricators, designers, and installers to meet production goals and ensure the final product meets client specifications

This position is paid at an hourly rate that ranges from $20.00/hour to $30.00/hour depending on background and experience working in the industry and position.
Position is based on a 40-hour (Monday to Friday) work week broken down according to the following schedule:
* Monday to Thursday: 7:00am to 4:30pm
* Friday: 7:00am to 11:00 am
(Occasional overtime may be required)
