Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Various locations. Relocation costs covered by employer. Tasks: Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted. Repair cracks and holes. Mix paint to desired colour and texture. Measure, cut and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls. Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging. Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces. Equipment and machinery experience: Brush painting. Conventional spray painting. Patterned rollers. Roller painting. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Hand-eye co-ordination. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Workplace information: On the road job. Support for persons with disabilities: Provides auditory accessibility accommodations (for example: transcription software, teletypewriters, etc.). Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities . Support for newcomers and refugees: Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.). Offers flexible onboarding options to allow Veterans to gradually adapt to the civilian workplace (for example: gradually increasing hours and responsibilities, etc.) . Support for Indigenous people: Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations . Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers . Support for mature workers: Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination . Offers phased re-entry options for mature workers who are returning to work after retiring (for example: gradually increasing hours and responsibilities) . Supports for visible minorities: Applies hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities (for example: anonymizing the hiring process, etc.).
