Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Office building. Various locations. School or educational institution/establishment. Tasks: Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs. Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse. Empty trash cans and other waste containers. Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings. Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs. Perform minor repairs on appliances. Perform safety and security checks. Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures. Work with minimal supervision. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas. Equipment: Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers. Carpet cleaning machine. Polishing machines. Waxing machine. Steam cleaners. Power lawn mowers. Security system. Small tractors (lawn/snow removal attachments). Snowblower. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Repetitive tasks.
