Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Work setting: Industrial. Manufacture. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) Certification. Type of materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Tubular. Multipass. Robotic equipment and systems. Gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG). Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine. Gas welding machine. Crane. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Structural construction. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Overtime required. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Welding helmet. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills.
