They plan, schedule and assign maintenance work/activities of the Transportation Shop, through efficient task coordination, transportation management techniques & evaluation.</p><p><span><strong><br><br></strong></span><span><strong>Education & Qualifications:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li><span>A valid journeyperson certificate in motor mechanics. </span></li> <li><span>A minimum of Grade 12 diploma from a recognized educational institution as approved by the Board of Education of General Educational Development (GED)</span></li> <li><span>A vehicle safety inspection certificate</span></li> <li><span>A valid Class 1-5 driver?s license</span></li> <li><span>A minimum of two (2) years experience in school bus or heavy equipment repair</span></li> <li><span>A minimum of two (2) years experience with gas, propane, and diesel engines</span></li><li><span>One (1) year supervisory experience and/or training</span></li> <li><span>Must have own tools</span></li> <li><span>Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently in a time sensitive environment</span></li> <li><span>Must be very safety conscious</span></li> <li><span>Strong work ethic and positive team attitude</span></li> </ul> <p><span><strong><span>Physical Requirements: </span></strong><span>The ability to do heavy work is required (i.e., exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects).
