The Engineering Manager is responsible for guiding and managing the MPD Engineering team to ensure drilling programs are planned, executed, and evaluated effectively and efficiently.
*Responsibilities *
* Delivering safe and environmentally responsible drilling engineering solutions for client wells that are compliant with company standards and follow industry recommended practices, requirements, and provincial directives
* Maintaining quality of service by reviewing and approving technical engineering reports, work programs, and management of change documentation
* Accomplishing financial objectives by forecasting annual budgets and scheduling expenditures
* Providing quality management by setting the Engineering Team roles & responsibilities and developing training programs for employees
* Implementing the MPD team productivity standards and evaluating the results to ensure goals are achieved
* Coordinating and facilitating flexible team schedules to meet customer drilling requirements such as providing after-hours engineering support
* Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by allocating resources, monitoring team performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational goals
* Planning and developing career growth opportunities for employees
* Interfacing regularly with client engineers and superintendents, as well as field staff and third-party services
* Providing technical advice and recommending solutions for MPD related drilling problems
* Specifying appropriate MPD equipment and operations that adhere to client design parameters to achieve the well objectives
* Travelling to customer?s locations and field support of on-going operations as needed
* Collaborating with management to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives throughout the engineering department and company
* Exemplifying the corporate B.E.S.T. P.R.A.C.T.I.C.E.S. in all aspects of work
*Requirements:*
* A Master?s or bachelor?s degree in engineering
* Minimum of *8+* years of MPD Engineering experience focusing on drilling and the management of drilling engineering staff
* Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation
* Proven track record of delivering well projects
* Strong Excel and MS Office skills
*Preferred qualifications include:*
* Proficient in Excel with knowledge in Visual Basic and the ability to write macros
* Well Control, H2S Alive, First Aid, and other applicable safety/field tickets
* Drilling & Completions field experience
