Finance ManagerThe North Coast Regional District is situated on the breathtaking North Coast of British Columbia and includes the archipelago of Haida Gwaii. It is a dynamic, resource-based region with a population of approximately 18,000 residents. The region offers great outdoor and indoor recreational opportunities. As the Finance Manager, and reporting to the Treasurer, you will provide leadership and supervision to a small but dedicated finance team, assist in the development and management of an annual operating budget of approximately $6.7 million and capital budget of approximately $4 million, provide various reports to the Treasurer, staff, and other agencies, prepare for the annual audit, and assist the Treasurer with the day-to-day operation of the finance department. The ideal candidate should have: A post-secondary education in business, finance, accounting or public administration or related disciplines; Diploma in Local Government Administration (preferred); Experience with information systems, especially with municipal accounting software; Two years supervisory experience in a unionized setting (preferred); and Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
