Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen operations, a creative flair for food presentation, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure that our kitchen runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets the high standards of our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Sous Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure high-quality food production.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and specials.
- Monitor food presentation and quality, ensuring that all dishes meet our restaurant's standards.
- Assist in managing kitchen operations during busy service periods, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Provide leadership and support in the absence of the Head Chef.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or relevant role in a high-volume kitchen.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity and a passion for culinary arts.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
