Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Residential. Various locations. Tasks: Test and replace defective equipment or components. Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems. Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment. Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B. Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 3 or C. Gas Fitter Trade Certification. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Excellent oral communication. Team player.
