*CME Ltd. West Coast Division is currently seeking an Industrial Painter to join our team in Port Alberni, British Columbia. As an Industrial Painter, you are responsible for ensuring the correct paint application is followed for each boat. This includes painting all required parts. Other duties include masking for different paint applications, conducting paint repairs, and performing quality checks throughout the paint process. Painters will also conduct paint prep duties.*
*Duties*
* Mask boats and other objects as needed for different paint packages.
* Sand and prep using various techniques and machinery.
* Apply different textures and coatings.
* Paint all parts and surfaces as required.
* Complete paint repairs or touch-ups as required.
*Qualifications and Skills*
* Industrial painting experience is required ? i.e. aviation, automotive, marine painting experience.
* Ability to read and understand work orders.
* Ability to perform strenuous physical labour for long periods of time.
* Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
* High attention to detail is required in order to achieve quality standards.
* Previous experience or training in a similar role is an asset.
* Understanding and ability to maintain a safe work environment.
* Ability to work independently or with others to achieve a common goal.
* Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter ? follow direction with minimal supervision.
* Willing and open to learn each day.
* Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
* Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment.
* Journeyman Certification Required
*Working Conditions*
* Regular periods during which there is continuous physical effort is required, e.g., walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
* Exposure to factors such as temperature variations, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, toxic materials which may cause periods of discomfort, high noise levels.
* Frequent need to give concentrated attention, either hearing or seeing to work being performed.
* Noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands exists.
