*About the Role*
As a Business Development Manager, you?ll play a pivotal role in sourcing, developing, and closing new freight forwarding opportunities. You will focus on building long-term partnerships with clients across key sectors including:
* Agricultural equipment and produce exporters
* Construction and heavy equipment suppliers
* Oil & gas and clean energy companies
* General manufacturing and distribution businesses
You will actively promote Jenik Freight?s full suite of services and help clients navigate global logistics with confidence and clarity.
*What You'll Be Doing*
* Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline of high-value prospects
* Identify and convert new business opportunities through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and events
* Engage existing customers to expand business and promote additional services
* Deliver customized freight solutions and pricing proposals tailored to client needs
* Represent Jenik Freight at trade shows, conferences, and networking events
* Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to position Jenik as a leader
* Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets
* Use CRM tools to document and track client interactions, opportunities, and reporting metrics
* Contribute to strategic sales planning and revenue forecasting
* Collaborate closely with the operations and leadership teams to ensure exceptional service delivery
*What We?re Looking For*
* *5+ years* of proven success in freight forwarding sales or business development
* Deep knowledge of import/export logistics and international shipping practices
* Existing industry network and ability to leverage relationships to generate business
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Highly organized, self-motivated, and target-driven
* Proficiency with CRM platforms, MS Office, and social selling tools like LinkedIn
* Comfortable in fast-paced environments and working independently
* Strong problem-solving skills and customer-centric mindset
