Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Minimize hazards at all stages of the food production process. Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Prepare production and other reports. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Direct quality control inspections. Organize and maintain inventory. Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work. Hire, supervise and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques. Maintain an inventory of raw materials and finished products to prevent shortages. Develop production schedules and duty assignments to ensure proper functioning. Supervision: Staff in various areas of responsibility.
