Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Medium/heavy vehicle and truck technology/technician. Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Order parts and maintain inventory. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Perform repair work on heavy trucks. Verify and repair emission control systems. Perform other routine maintenance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Diesel engine repair specialization: Major internal engine repairs or overhaul. Installation and alignment of engines and machinery. Powered equipment repair specialization: Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Hydraulic transmissions. Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Overtime required. Personal suitability: Flexibility. Reliability. Team player. Organized.
