Staal Irrigation Incorporated was originally founded in 2009. Within the last decade we have grown into one of Northwestern Ontario?s most proven utility contractors. Being a qualified contractor for such companies as Bell Canada, CN Rail, CP Rail, Shaw Cable, Telus, City of Thunder Bay, Thunder Bay Telephone and all major plumbing and electrical contractors within the region. The scope of work that we perform includes directional drilling, hydrovac excavation, trenching, excavation, vibratory plowing, residential cable drops, aerial strand placement, aerial lashing, cable placing, anchor installation, and fibre splicing. *Position Description* We currently have a role for equipment operator. This position is based out of Rosslyn, On. *Duties* * Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, and loaders to perform tasks including digging, brushing, and moving materials. * Conduct daily pre-operation inspections on equipment to ensure safety and functionality. * Follow safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery on job sites. * Maintain equipment by performing routine checks * Communicate effectively with supervisors and other operators regarding project progress and any issues that arise. * Adhere to all company policies regarding safety, quality control, and environmental regulations. * The position requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience operating heavy equipment in a railroad construction environment, along with mechanical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems. The role includes driving machines onto truck trailers and unloading them. *Experience* * Five years experience in heavy equipment operation * A valid commercial driving license * Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks associated with construction work * Ability to work out of town * A commitment to safety practices and the ability to recognize potential hazards on job sites. *What We Offer* Competitive base salary Competitive benefits RRSP/DPSP Contributions Schedule Shift work Ability to work out of town Job Type: Full-time Pay: $26.77-$58.50 per hour Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Dental care * Extended health care * Vision care Flexible language requirement: * French not required Schedule: * Monday to Friday * Overtime * Weekends as needed Experience: * Heavy equipment operation: 5 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
