Reporting to the Section Manager and Team Lead, the successful candidate will perform technical work in infrastructure project design, budget allocation, implementation and delivery coordination. Your decision-making and sound technical knowledge, in particular in conceptual design, will be critical as you help to deliver transportation projects for our city.EMPLOYMENT STATUSExempt - Term (2 Year)RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute to or manage the definition of Terms of Reference to inform the scope for transportation capital project delivery. Conduct technical reviews of the various phases of design for transportation projects. Prepare technical reports and presentations to external and internal stakeholders. Administer and manage contracts with technical consultants to support analysis of road networks and required transportation infrastructure. Lead and/or support with technical and strategic input on divisional initiatives, including policies, guidelines and design standards. Assist the other transportations sections, as stakeholders for the different divisional assets, in budget estimation and project selection for infrastructure such as signals, intersections, bridges, pavement, cycling, and walking facilities. QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor?s degree in civil engineering with a minimum of five years of related experience in transportation engineering design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered, or eligibility for registration, with Engineering and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC). Skills in managing and processing data to keep proper records for the planning, analysis, and coordination of project delivery. Experience and proficiency with budgeting and project delivery processes are an asset. Relevant experience in the public sector and/or working as a consultant on municipal transportation projects is an asset. Ability to attend public meetings and/or advisory meetings beyond regular office hours if required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt to a wide variety of stakeholders. Thorough knowledge and interpretation of construction drawings for transportation infrastructure systems, including civil (geometric, signs/markings). Experience and proficiency with GIS tools and CAD software (ArcGIS, AutoCAD, BlueBeam) is an asset. Additional Info Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
