Reporting to the Supervisor of Fleets, this role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of various Municipal vehicles and equipment. The incumbent will diagnose repair problems; remove, inspect, repair, and replace defective components. They will carry out inspections, repairs, modifications, and upgrades to Fire & Rescue units, as well as maintain vehicle and equipment repair records, estimate vehicle downtime, and determine vehicle roadworthiness.Our Preferred Candidate:The ideal candidate will have: Current and valid B.C Certification of Trades Qualification in Heavy Duty/Commercial Transport Mechanics. Able to obtain and maintain Emergency Vehicle Technician certification and B.C Commercial Vehicle Inspectors license. Strong understanding of methods and procedures of mechanical maintenance including hydraulic and hydrostatic systems and repairs. Current and valid Class 3 B.C Driver?s Licence with air brake endorsement.
