Governance and Controls, the successful candidate will fulfill the 1B mandate by providing guidance on and participating in the identification, measurement, management, treatment, and reporting of risks, emerging issues, and regulatory changes. Through building strong relationships and developing a thorough understanding of the P&T objectives and strategy, the successful candidate will act as a trusted partner and proactively identify, challenge, document, and communicate risks in a manner which enables the entire platform team to make faster and better decisions while operating within TD's Risk Appetite. This successful candidate will demonstrate a balance of risk and business acumen to guide the teams as they navigate through complex risk domains and regulatory requirements. A key component of the role is to foster and effectively manage relationships with Risk & Control Partners (Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Operational Risk, Fraud, GAML, Technology Risk, and others) to ensure alignment to the broader organization from a policy and compliance perspective while also leveraging their knowledge and expertise to ensure partner interactions are efficient, effective, and timely.Supports a team of Governance and Control specialists that have 1B oversight on Protect Platform. Coordinate risk treatment process for gaps identified as part of 2A Compliance Issue Management Process. Experience in using Merlin is an asset.Review and assess residual risks and provide sound advice to process owners as it relates risk, control, and remediation plans.Conduct timely analysis and reporting of operational risk events as they occur.Deliver and document the quarterly operational risk events attestation processes.Provide reporting on remediation plans status and help with prioritization of remediation activities.Provide support in end-to-end control testing engagements in alignment with applicable program, policies, and regulatory guidelines.Execute on pRCSA risk reviews and control effectiveness testingApply a teamwork philosophy with Technology and Partners, Service or Platform owners to integrate all technology security components and address control gaps.Consult on regulatory compliance requirements, reporting and questions.Influence behavior to reduce risk, foster a strong risk management culture.Strong knowledge of governance, risk and control procedures, strategies & tactics and provide broad risk knowledge across multiple risk domains (e.g., Compliance, Privacy, AML, ORM, etc.)Along with maintaining broad risk knowledge, train and develop applicable specialized risk disciplines that directly impact risk assessments - Privacy Designate training, Data Governance expertise Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations:Bachelor's degree or progressive work experience in Financial sectorJob Qualifications:Seasoned professional with over 7 years of relevant experienceStrong critical thinking and risk management skillsRelationship Management skills and the ability to effectively negotiate outcomesThirst for knowledge with a solid geeky interest
