Tasks: Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel. Install roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Pave and rake asphalt. Area of specialization: Shingled roofs. Conventional and inverted built-up system. Modified roofing system. Rigid pre-formed roofing system. Single ply sheet membrane roofing system. Tiled roofs. Skylights. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Overtime required. Repetitive tasks. Work under pressure. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
