Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Assemble mechanical parts into subassemblies. Assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts to form subassemblies or finished products. Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly. Operate automated assembling equipment. Fasten parts together using fastening and joining equipment. Operate or tend automated assembling equipment. Inspect finished products for proper functioning. Check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and proper functioning. Test and check electrical assemblies and wiring for proper connection. Make minor adjustments and repairs. Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment. Connect cables, tubes and wires to complete assemblies and installations. Assemble, fit and install pre-fabricated parts and subassemblies. Adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and established procedures. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. MS Office. Equipment and machinery experience: Generators. Inspection or testing specialization: Mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Area of specialization: Installation. Assembly. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
