Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.As Senior Manager, you will implement, oversee and contribute to the development of the Compliance Risk & Control Assessment (CRCA) activities. These activities are essential in evaluating the Regulatory Compliance risk profile of the Bank. All activities must be in alignment with the approved risk appetite, leveraging industry best practices and in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, all while enabling the Bank's strategic priorities.Accountabilities Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.Provides support to the Director in the development of and recommends enhancements to comprehensive risk assessment methodologies, shaping the tools for these assessments by integrating industry best practices and regulatory standards. Documents Methodologies, Operating Procedures and Standards (where applicable). Responsible for ensuring the effective execution of Risk Assessment activities by developing training materials, fostering strong relationships with internal clients, and providing advice and counsel to relevant stakeholders to maintain program efficacy. Oversees assessment outcomes to identify trends, drive adherence to procedures and enable early detection and remediation of risk exposure to prevent instances of non-compliance.Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. Education/ExperienceGraduate degree in Business, Finance, Law or relevant Social Science (e.g. Economics). Minimum of 5 years of experience in a large Financial Institution or with financial regulators. In addition, the ideal candidate should have:Minimum 3 years of Risk Management experience (Compliance Risk, Operational Risk or relevant fields)Sound understanding of the role of Compliance risk assessments in supporting the management of riskKnowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory requirements, guidelines and expectations. Experience developing and maintaining reports for Executive audiences, with the ability to visualize data Expertise in data analytics / data mining and ability to manipulate and make sense of very large data setsProficiency with Web-based applications, and strong skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), particularly with respect to data analysisExperience with Governance, Risk and Compliance systems (e.g., OpenPages, Archer)Demonstrated experience in leading a successful technology-based compliance projectStrong time management, project management, analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to articulate, develop and implement solutions to complex issuesAbility to learn and adapt to rapidly changing regulatory and business environmentsFluency in Spanish can be an asset.Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
