This includes ensuring external relations, reputation strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Vice President, Enterprise & External Affairs is a highly visible role, acting as a trusted advisor to the all- Bank Executive team, and reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer. This role's core mandate includes an essential enterprise-level communications planning function, reputation management, media relations and select Corporate Functions support.AccountabilitiesLeads and drives a client-focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.Central Planning - Responsible for central communications planning across All-Bank communications (e.g. Strategic Framework, and Corporate Functions). Create an 'All Bank' communication strategy and plan and an integrated annual calendar and content strategy and identify priority pillars on which to build Scotiabank's reputation.Working closely with key partner groups, including Investor Relations, the Office of the CEO, Enterprise Strategy, Corporate Secretary, Finance and Legal, leads parent-company communications including the Bank's quarterly earnings, M&A, the Bank's annual report and annual general meeting.Executive Communications ? Leading the development of content and materials for executive leaders for both internal and external audiences for select Corporate Function partners, including Global Finance and Legal, Governance and Corporate Security. Partners closely with the Office of the CEO on CEO-level communications.Thought-Leadership & Content Strategy ? Responsible for building and delivering an enterprise- wide thought leadership and content strategy that supports the Bank in advocating for a Growth-First Agenda. Oversees the Bank's Perspectives Newsroom and Enterprise Creative Studio teams to support the Bank's business lines and advance the Bank's reputation across key differentiators.Serve as senior advisor for the all-Bank executive management team in the areas of issues and crisis management (planned and unplanned), and reputation management. This includes developing strategies, providing counsel, developing plans on an ongoing basis and leading media relations for the Bank.Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.
