Accounting & Federal AgreementsPay Band 7 Fredericton, NB Permanent Position Open CompetitionWe are seeking a passionate and visionary senior leader to join the recently renewed and restructured New Brunswick Housing Corporation (NBHC), as Assistant Director ? Accounting & Federal Agreements in its Central Office in Fredericton. Who we are. The NBHC is focused on working with all levels of government, community groups, organizations, and the private sector to identify and maximize housing development opportunities while providing support through a housing strategy to positively impact New Brunswickers.What will you be doing?Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will oversee financial processes and reporting for NBHC, such as compliance with the federal agreements and preparation of the annual corporate financial statements.Specific duties will include, but will not be limited to, the following: Overseeing the preparation of the required reporting for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) under the funding agreements, including liaising with CMHC and external auditors; Overseeing the preparation of the annual corporate financial statements and subsequent audit conducted by the Auditor General's Office of New Brunswick. Providing strategic advice to senior managers and branch directors on various financial matters; Overseeing preparation of briefing materials for senior management and elected officials; Analyzing large volumes of data and program detail to build business cases to support funding requests; Consultation on contracts/agreements with non-profit agencies, capital construction and others; Leading, directing, monitoring, and managing staff and ensuring that work is performed in accordance with accounting standards and reflect best practices.Need to have (essential qualifications) Master's degree in Business Administration or Public Administration with a recognized professional accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation) and a minimum of five (5) years related work experience, of which three (3) years of relevant financial experience and one (1) year of direct supervisory experience in staff management is required. OR a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Public Administration with a recognized professional accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation) and a minimum of eight (8) years related work experience, of which three (3) years of relevant financial experience and one (1) year of direct supervisory experience in staff management is required.
