Mastronardi Estate Vineyards is looking for a Vineyard Manager to aid in our growing of over 10 varietals of grapes on 40+ acres of land. The ideal candidate will lead and aid the existing workers in the tasks listed below:
Field Operations and Vineyard Management:
* Work alongside the vineyard crew to perform key viticultural tasks such as executing spraying programs, pruning, thinning, tying, planting, replanting, and harvesting.
* Oversee the planting of grapevines, including selecting appropriate rootstocks, ensuring correct planting depth and spacing, and preparing soil to optimize vine health.
* Manage the application of pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides in accordance with safe viticultural practices and integrated disease management strategies.
Harvest and Quality Control:
* Supervise grape picking, ensuring harvest occurs at the peak of ripeness and quality in consultation with the winemaker
* Liaise with the winemaker to review vineyard performance, determine pruning strategies, evaluate practices affecting yield and fruit quality, and estimate annual harvest yields
Equipment and Infrastructure Oversight:
* Ensure the proper maintenance and repair of vineyard equipment, trellises, fencing, and other infrastructure
* Maintain an orderly inventory of vineyard equipment and tools
Record-Keeping Responsibilities:
* Keep detailed records of vineyard operations- including planting dates, pruning schedules, pest and disease management, harvest data, spray records, and nutrition plans- in compliance with industry regulations and best practices
Team Leadership and Safety:
* Supervise, evaluate, and provide developmental planning for vineyard personnel, fostering a positive and productive work environment
* Monitor progress in the field and report observations and recommendations to senior management and the winemaker
* Ensure a safe working environment by upholding all safety protocols and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards
Hospitality and Additional Duties:
* Maintain the vineyard as a hospitality asset by preparing for special events
* Assist with the winemaking duties or oversee the delegation of related tasks when needed

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 ? 50 per week
