We're large enough to compete head-to-head with publicly traded engineering giants, but still small enough to maintain the culture and flexibility of a close-knit team.Our size and hands-on management style let us move quickly, embrace new opportunities, and empower our people to shape their own careers?without getting lost in corporate bureaucracy.You're an ideal candidate if you have:Experience managing materials engineering and testing projects.Experience delivering concrete laboratory testing services.Experience training laboratory and field testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.Extensive familiarity with CSA, ASTM, and other applicable standards.Excellent oral and written communication skills.A typical day on the job might look like:Managing civil engineering projects, with a particular focus on materials engineering and testing, construction oversight, and geotechnical engineering projects.Serving as the main point of contact for key clients on materials, geotechnical, and civil engineering projects.Performing project management functions, including proposal preparation, budget estimation, scheduling, scope management, technical reporting, maintaining quality throughout the project, and implementing improvement plans.Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging regulatory requirements and best practices to ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.Coordination of field materials and geotechnical resources.Reviewing and communication of field and laboratory reports and testing results to project teams and external clients.Collaborating with the project team, external clients, and stakeholders to design and execute materials engineering solutions.Developing technical reports related to materials engineering factual data and recommendations.Supporting the operations of a CCIL certified concrete laboratory.Mentoring and training junior staff on field testing of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.Mentoring and training junior staff on laboratory concrete testing.Maintaining and calibrating testing equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.Actively collaborate with Branch Managers on business planning and market strategy.Providing leadership in client development and management, focusing on building sustainable relationships.Field testing of aggregates, soil, asphalt, and concrete.Performing various office, laboratory, and field tasks related to materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering.Adhering to health and safety protocols, promoting a safe working environment.Adhering to all company policies.Performing other duties as required.The good stuff you get:Full time (37.5 hours per standard week ? varies with client workload).Fair pay plus extra: competitive salary with year-end profit-sharing bonusComplete health & dental coverage including vision, paramedical services, and TeladocRetirement planning made easier with a 5% employer match on your contributionsPaid time off (vacation and sick days) plus Employee & Family Assistance Program when you need itOffice year-end closure (paid time off between Christmas and the New Year)Your background and what you bring:Currently registered, or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers Nova Scotia.Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering consulting.CCIL certifications for testing concrete, aggregates, and/or asphalt are considered a
