Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : DZ class license. Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Documentation knowledge: Dangerous goods occurrence reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Type of trucking and equipment: Liquid bulk. Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Regional. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
