United Paving & Asphalt is looking for an experienced financial controller to join our team.
*Job Summary*
As the Financial Controller, you will play a role in overseeing and managing all aspects of financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss reports, and cash flow statements.
* Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with ownership to ensure financial goals are met.
* Lead year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial records are timely and accurately completed.
* Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process.
* Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
* Ensure the integrity of financial data across all platforms and accounting systems.
* Collaborate with ownership to develop financial strategies to support business objectives.
* Collaborate with departments to develop timely and accurate job costing models for large scale projects.
* Initiate & maintain contracts, including but not limited to insurance, utilities, and union contracts.
* Manage & reconcile inter company financials.
* Oversee monthly remittances- Payroll, HST, Workers Compensation, & Union reports.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor?s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
* Experience in financial management or a related field.
* Experience in paving, concrete, or the construction industry is preferred but not required.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles laws & regulations.
* Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong time management skills.
