*Position Overview:*
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and developing a young, talented team of engineers. This is a hands-on leadership role that spans production engineering, product customization, quality assurance, manufacturing support, and industrial automation development.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
* Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers responsible for:
* SolidWorks modeling of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
* Modification of CAD files to meet customer-specific requirements.
* Nesting parts for sheet metal cutting centers.
* Programming of CNC sheet metal folding centers.
* Setup and verification of manufacturing work centers and gasket systems.
* Creation and inspection of first-off parts.
* Quality inspections at various manufacturing stages.
* Management and verification of nesting, design files, and production priorities.
* Coordination of work through manufacturing.
* Oversight of work center maintenance programs.
* Purchasing support and incoming materials inspection.
*Additional Responsibilities:*
* Update production progress and establish work schedules.
* Manage ISO 9001 Quality System, including KPI tracking, non-conformance management, and corrective actions.
* Support maintenance and repair activities related to factory floor equipment.
* Contribute to software and systems development for industrial robotics and CNC automation.
* Develop and oversee preventative maintenance and troubleshooting systems.
* Support the development of manufacturing documentation and training manuals.
* Participate in prototype testing, production tooling development, and automation commissioning.
* Assist in developing a web-based 3D product configurator and quotation system.
*Key Qualifications:*
* Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; P.Eng designation preferred (or eligibility to obtain).
* 5+ years of progressive engineering experience, including team leadership responsibilities.
* Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and CAD-based manufacturing workflows.
* Practical experience in CNC manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication, and industrial automation systems.
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Excellent leadership, communication, mentorship, and project management skills.
* Strong organizational ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
