Education: Bachelor's degree. Work site environment: Outdoors. Dusty. Tasks: Assist manager in the implementation of safety programs. Examine plans, drawings and site layouts. Inspect construction of building and engineering construction. Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes. Ensure electrical and plumbing installations meet government regulation. Inspect construction of sewer systems and pipelines. Inspect to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained. Inspect existing buildings for structural defects and fire hazards. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification by a provincial or territorial association. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Type of inspection: Highways. Bridges. Sewer systems and pipelines. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Travel expenses paid by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Physically demanding. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent written communication. Judgement. Organized. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
