Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: General manufacturing. Tasks: Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Repair machine tools and parts. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Clean and maintain work space. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Gauges. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Drill presses. Engine lathes. Milling machines. Sawing machine. Tapping machines. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods.
