We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager of Planning and Intergovernmental Services. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the role of the General Manager of Planning and Intergovernmental Services is to inform and advise the CAO and Council on strategic policy direction, as well as mentor and direct staff and lead policy development in the areas of planning, economic development, and intergovernmental affairs. The successful candidate will ideally hold a university degree in Planning, Public Administration, or a related field, along with a Certificate in Local Government Administration (CLGM). They will bring a minimum of seven years of progressive management experience, preferably in a local government setting, and demonstrate a strong background in supervision, team building, and conflict resolution. Experience in economic development strategies and programs, as well as managing intergovernmental relationships in a constructive and collaborative manner, is essential. The candidate should also have experience working with budgets and possess a solid understanding of the Municipal Government Act and related legislation. A combination of education and experience that is deemed equivalent may be considered.Cypress County offers a highly attractive total compensation package, including competitive salary, excellent benefits, in addition to supporting learning and development opportunities.
