We are seeking a talented and driven *Second Chef* to help lead our kitchen team under exciting new ownership. This is a starting leadership position with opportunity to grow. The ideal candidate brings experience, passion, and the ability to help set and uphold high culinary standards. You will work closely with ownership and the Head Chef to elevate both the team and the menu.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Assist in *building and managing a high-performing kitchen team*
* Conduct *performance reviews* and *train cooks* to ensure consistency
* Create a *positive and collaborative work environment*
* Oversee *prep standardization* and update recipe books
* Implement *par levels* to ensure appropriate stock levels
* Maintain *cleanliness standards* in kitchen and prep areas
* Handle *ordering* and *inventory control*
* Ensure all dishes are prepared *to spec and quality standards*
* Keep training materials and kitchen tools *up-to-date*
* Participate in and sometimes *lead manager meetings*
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum 1-2 *years of progressive kitchen leadership experience*
* Strong knowledge of *culinary trends* in casual or fine dining
* Experience with *inventory management, food costs, and scheduling*
* Effective trainer and team mentor
* Patience, *tact, and diplomacy* in managing diverse kitchen teams
* Ability to *multi-task and work under pressure*
* Excellent *verbal and written communication* skills
* Strong *organizational and leadership skills*
* Willingness to work *evenings, weekends, and holidays*
* *Red Seal Certification* (or equivalent) is an asset

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 ? 44 per week
