The Nelson Police Department & Central Kootenay RCMP are seeking a compassionate and skilled professional to deliver integrated support services across two vital community programs: Police Victim Services and Restorative Justice.In this hybrid role, you will provide trauma-informed support to victims and witnesses of crime, respond to call-outs as needed, offering practical assistance, and court-related services. In the Restorative Justice role, you will work collaboratively with a volunteer-based program offering meaningful alternatives to the traditional justice system through healing, accountability, and community repair.POSITION SUMMARY:This dual role position supports both the Police Victim Services and Restorative Justice programs. The successful candidate will provide trauma-informed support to victims and coordinate restorative justice services with police, volunteers, and the broader community. This role will require flexibility, strong emotional intelligence, and the ability to lead trauma-informed community programs.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Criminology, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years in a related social service, justice, or community support role.
