The company is committed to ensuring workers go home safe each and every day. *Summary:* Working with the Shop Service Manager, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing and repairing all types of heavy equipment: excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, loaders, etc. *Job Duties Responsibilities:* * Perform preventative services checks and maintenance * Facilitate safety inspections * Assess equipment to see if they need to be sent elsewhere for repair * Report faults and malfunctions on all company equipment * Coordinate with Shop Foreman to determine priorities for equipment repair * Maintain required safeties on heavy equipment * Maintain a clean and safe environment * Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations * Other duties as assigned *Requirements:* * 2+ years? experience as a mechanic is required * Must have a valid driver?s license, Class 1 or 3 is considered an asset * Red Seal Certification (Optional) * Experience with heavy equipment is an asset * Willing and able to work out-of-town/province for service calls * Physically capable of performing the duties of the position; standing, sitting, lifting, etc. for long periods of time * Strong attention to detail and time management skills * Strong teamwork and communication skills * Safety-first attitude * Provide: must have own tools, hard hat, high visibility vest, CSA approved steel-toed safety boots/shoes *Benefits:* * Benefits after 3 months * Company matching RRSP contributions after 3 months * Competitive wages * Room for growth and advancement Journeymen/Certified Heavy Equipment Mechanics wage range: $30-42 We thank all applicants, however, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.
