Position Overview Mammoth Forestry is hiring a skilled and certified Arborist / Faller to perform technical tree work on residential, commercial, and industrial job sites. This role requires high-level chainsaw skills, hazard tree assessment, and experience with both rigging and traditional felling techniques. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading removals, mentoring crew members, and working safely in challenging northern conditions. Key Responsibilities - Perform hazard tree removals and technical felling using industry best practices - Climb trees using rope and saddle or operate from a bucket truck - Execute complex rigging operations in confined or high-risk areas - Conduct tree assessments and advise clients on tree health and safety - Mentor and lead ground crew in safe work procedures - Operate chainsaws, chippers, and mechanized equipment as required - Participate in daily tailgate meetings and ensure full PPE compliance - Maintain accurate records of work performed and site hazards - Assist with FireSmart operations and right-of-way clearing projects Requirements - ISA Certified Arborist OR BC Certified Faller (or equivalent) - 2+ years of experience in professional tree work or utility clearing - Proven ability to safely fell trees in high-risk environments - Strong rigging, climbing, and saw-handling skills - Valid Class 5 Driver?s License (Class 3 or air brakes an asset) - First Aid Level 1 (or willing to obtain) - Commitment to safety, teamwork, and professionalism Assets (Not Required) - Utility Arborist or Danger Tree Assessor certification - Wildfire suppression or fuel mitigation experience - Experience with aerial lifts, spider lifts, or skid steers - Familiarity with FireSmart principles and BCWS safety standards Why Work with Mammoth Forestry? - Lead technical jobs with a supportive, professional crew - Competitive wages, overtime, and seasonal bonus opportunities - Modern equipment and strong emphasis on safety and clean-up - Opportunities for winter firewood work, training, and career growth Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 ? 50 per week Additional pay: * Overtime pay Schedule: * Monday to Friday * Overtime Work Location: In person- LocationFort St. John, BC
