Position Details:Position: Full-Time Rapid Response GuardSite: City of Brampton - 150 Central Park Drive, Brampton, ON L6V0A3Hours: Continental Night - 1900-0700hrs.Payrate: $19.10 - 22.16/ an hour Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hoursPosting Date: June 20, 2025Internal Closing Date: June 26, 2025External Closing Date: July 4, 2025City of Brampton's Rapid Response will provide a uniform security presence at the various City of Brampton locations which includes; Rose Theatre, City Hall, Civic Centre and other Downtown Brampton facilities, properties, assets and events.Responding to and reporting all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity and hazardous situationsUnlocking and locking doors and officesProviding access controlProviding a uniform security presence within various locations and customer service areasDeterring and enforcing prohibited acts such as loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding and cyclingEnsuring the buildings are secured after hoursCompleting patrols with the use of an electronic guard tour Job DutiesAbility to work alone or in a teamEnthusiastically conducts proactive patrols, and be able to address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.Ability to write detailed incident reports for all emergency and day to day activitiesAttend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner as not to create a panic amongst the publicMonitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other personsAbility to de-escalate a crisis, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including; police, fire and paramedic resources.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededLogging in/out of Key, Radio and pager auditsHandle Lost & Found items and inquiriesReport any unsafe working conditions in any/all departmentsAbility to provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)Respond to all types of occurrences.Patrol interior and exterior,Job Requirements:Minimum Two (2) year of Security Experience Minimum Two (2) year Security Guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment would be an asset.Dispatch and Mobile experience is assetPost-Secondary education in a related field would be an asset.Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills + Customer Service SkillsMust possess a valid Security License for the Province of OntarioMust possess a current First Aid/CPR certificationMust have a Valid Ontario G Class Driver's License Must be Able to Provide 3 year Clean Driver's AbstractPhysical Demands; excessive walking, standing, exposed to all weather conditions and extreme temperaturesUtilize two-way radio and computer applicationsExcellent verbal and written English communications skills required.
