As a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto, it is also at the forefront of research and education, shaping the future of healthcare.Position Details:Position: Full-Time Security DispatchSite: North York General Hospital LeslieOvertime: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hoursHours: Continental Rotation - 0700-1900/1900-0700Payrate: $ 20.03/hourPosting Date: June 20, 2025Internal Closing Date: June 27, 2025External Closing Date: July 11, 2025Schedule Example:Week 1 - Days - Mon-Tues, Fri-SatWeek 2 - Days - Sun, Wed-ThuWeek 3 - Nights - Mon-Tues, Fri-SatWeek 4 - Nights - Sun, Wed-ThuKey responsibilities:Monitor and respond to radio, telephone, and other communication systems used by security personnel.Dispatch security officers to specific locations based on real-time events and security needs.Maintain accurate logs of all security incidents, activities, and communications.Coordinate with emergency services (police, fire department, EMS) when necessary and assist with emergency responses.Monitor hospital surveillance systems, including security cameras, alarms, and access control systems.Provide detailed reports on incidents and activities to security management.Assist with the coordination of hospital evacuations, lockdowns, or other emergency situations as directed.Ensure proper documentation of incidents and actions taken in compliance with hospital security protocols.Serve as the main point of contact for security personnel while they are on shift.Communicate clearly and effectively with hospital staff, patients, and visitors to maintain a safe and secure environment.Assist with routine security checks and patrols as needed.Participate in ongoing training and development in security operations, emergency protocols, and hospital policies.Prerequisites:Valid Security License for the province of OntarioValid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)Covid Vaccine two dosesImmunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin testEnglish (oral and written) fluency is a mustPrevious experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the positionPlease be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availabilityAuthorized to Legally work in CanadaWhy choose Paladin?Opportunities for training and professional development.Competitive salary and benefits package.Free UniformsSecurity license reimbursementDry cleaning & hemming/tailoring allowancePaid vacation & sick daysAdditional perks"If you're excited about the opportunity to work with Paladin Security but don't meet every single qualification listed, don't let that stop you from applying.
