We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Secretary to join our team in a dynamic medical office environment. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, assist the physician in other tasks needed to provide exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and supporting the overall efficiency of our medical office.
*Responsibilities*
* Greet patients warmly and manage their check-in and check-out processes.
* Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries and scheduling appointments using phone systems.
* Maintain accurate patient records and manage electronic medical records (EMR) efficiently.
* Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
* Assist patients in various ways in preparation of being examined by the physician.
* Utilize Telus Health / PSSuite software for patient management and billing processes.
* Ensure the office is organized and welcoming at all times.
* Collaborate with management to ensure seamless patient flow and communication within the office.
* Understand and utilize medical terminology to assist patients effectively.
*Experience*
* Previous experience in a medical / related field office setting is preferred.
* Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in using Telus Health / PSSuite practice management software is a plus.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
* A background in administrative support or as a medical receptionist or will be advantageous.
