*Foster LLP is seeking a full-time Family Law Legal Assistant to join our team. *
We are looking for an energetic individual with a good sense of humour and a strong work ethic.
*What we are looking for in an ideal candidate: *
* Minimum of 2 years? experience working in family law;
* A team player, who is able to work both independently and individually;
* Able to write and speak fluently in English;
* Will take ownership of tasks and projects;
* Has excellent time management and communication skills;
*Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:*
* Drafting legal documents (including Court forms, correspondence, and other documents) for assigned lawyer?s review using precedents, dictation, and handwritten notes;
* Ensuring both physical and electronic files are kept up-to-date and organized;
* Maintaining a client list and diarization schedule for limitations, general file activity, and other deadlines;
* Handling incoming and outgoing emails, telephone calls, and other correspondence had with both clients and other professionals;
* Other general administrative duties, including daily time entries, billing client files, and ensuring invoices are promptly paid; and
* Any other duties or tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the assigned lawyer.
Preference may be given to candidates with a Legal Assistant Diploma from SAIT.
Experience and familiarity with any of the following computer programs is considered an asset: Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel), PCLaw, Childview, and Adobe Acrobat (or similar).
